However, the little break over Christmas and New Year's always slows me down a little! I think I get a little bit tooooooooo relaxed, and need a good boot to get moving in the new year :).
You'll notice a few changes happening on this little blog - I'm going to begin aiming to do a post a day (Monday to Friday) to try and put out a steady stream of inspiration for you!
And that's a good thing... right?
As a bonus, I should get a fair bit of scrapping done too! It's a win-win situation! :)
But don't get stroppy if I miss a day here or there please! :)
To kick things off, I've got a sweet layout to share with you. My baby girl loves to water plants, (she definitely doesn't get that from me!) so one morning I was lucky enough to snap some candid photos of her watering the flowers out the front of our home.
I love the look of concentration on her face, she's totally absorbed with the task at hand.
I cropped the photos to 4" square, and then matted them onto Grasshopper Bazzill.
The patterned paper I chose to use is Echo Park Country Drive - Daisy Field. I'm totally in love with this collection!
For embellishments, I chose Little Yellow Bicycle - Elizabeth Park cardstock stickers. I'm really not a sticker girl, so when I use stickers, I like to stick them onto a piece of clear plastic first, and then trim around the edges, leaving a fine border. I feel that it gives me a more versatile embellishment - It's easier to layer up, and while you're fluffing around finding the perfect placement, there's no risk of sticking it down in the wrong spot.
Plus, it looks cool :)
I arranged the 3 pots and mounted them on foam tape, and then clustered a whole bunch of old-school mulberry paper flowers up on the pots - adding some flower stickers from the sticker sheet for a bit of extra interest. To make my cream flowers more yellowy, I spritzed them with gold glimmermist. I used a variety of centres, from resin stickers, to Kaisercraft's Sparklets to add a little bit of interest.
I didn't like how the pots appeared to be "floating" so I hand cut two layers of grass from the scrap grasshopper cardstock, and used that to anchor the magic floating pots. I also added in the watering can and shovel stickers to add to the whimsical feel.

Resin stickers are a number of the maximum a laugh and simple objects in existence. They are very simple, and have so many specific uses. They can be used to for my part mark a specific item as one’s own, however in a completely candy and easy way.
